Jesus’ Promise
John 15.16 – “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
Suggested Prayer
I pray for the right ideas to come to me in the perfect sequence and in the perfect order, in the right time and in the right way.
Personal Reflection
Every one of the ten prayer promises are great, but this one really resonates with me. It thrills me to know that God has chosen me.
Before I experienced a personal relationship with Jesus, I characterized myself as being a loser. I seemed to live in a fog and I desperately wanted a few good friends. The day I received my high school diploma, I ran to my car and never returned to that school again. Such was my life before meeting Jesus.
Jesus graciously chose me a month before my 18th birthday. I prayed one short prayer – “Jesus, you can have my life” – and it was literally show time. The good news is that Jesus chooses us to live with him and to join him in his redemptive work in the world. All the while, he gives us abundant life as a by-product.
Your Turn
Spend a few minutes remembering the joy of being chosen by Jesus. How did it happen? When did it happen? What was the result of Jesus’ work in your life?
Please let the readers of real-voices.com in on your experience of how Jesus chose you. It will encourage us.
Jesus I give you my life please allow your will to become my will ….
Amen
