Jesus’ Promise

John wrote this about answered prayer: “And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him” (1 John 5.15).

Suggested Prayer

I pray for the right persons to come into my life, at the right time and in the right way.

Personal Reflection

When I think about the key people who have been a positive influence in my life, I realize that the invisible hand of God has been guiding my way for my entire life. There was a friend who didn’t give up on me until I met Jesus as my Savior. There was a group of praying church members when I was a very young pastor. There was a meeting of a California woman and Missouri man (Toni and Bob) in a small town in Louisiana to be the love of my life for forty years. There were people who taught me to pray and to love others. All of these, and so many more, have been used by God to conform my life to his purposes.

I pray this prayer for my children, grandchildren, people at the church I attend, and governmental leaders. All of us need the right people at the right time in our lives.
