Jesus’ Promise
John 16.23 – “In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.”
Suggested Prayer
I pray for my will to become completely and utterly your will.
Personal Reflection
I reflected on the glory of God in yesterday’s article. The glory of God is different from the glory and glitz of popular culture. It is the gracious unveiling of the nature and character of God’s essential Being. Jesus was the perfect picture of God’s character on earth. If you want to understand who God is, read and re-read the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) in the New Testament.
When we pray in Jesus’ name, we are praying aligned with the character of Jesus. Praying men and women know the value of getting our will aligned with the plans and purposes of God. One of my heroes of the faith is Frank Laubach. He prayerfully read from the Gospels every day, so he could fill his heart with the character of Jesus.
When our inner person is aligned with character of God and purposes of God, we can be assured of answered prayer to the glory of God. Remember, the glory of God is simply the revelation of the nature and character of our loving Heavenly Father.
Your Turn
Do you have a regular reading plan? If not, please consider imitating Frank Laubach. Begin with the Gospel of Matthew and prayerfully read. My method of doing this is to read a few verses and then to turn them into prayers. I have found that God has used this to shape my inner self and outward action. Please try it out.
Thanks for your comments on real-voices.com. They are encouraging to me and to other readers.
Dear God please align your will with my every thought and action amen

Matt, you probably use a plumb line in your work. I imagine a plumb line that is placed beside my life and the word of God. I need to measure up to that. May we all get there!
