Promise and Prayer – Day 7 (Sunday)

Jesus’ Promise

Jesus knew Peter would be tempted to deny him and he said: “Simon, Simon, listen! Satan has demanded to sift all of you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your own faith may not fail . . .” (Luke 22.31-32).

In today’s prayer promise, Martha knew that whenever Jesus prays for us, it is absolutely for our good. She said this to Jesus: “But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” (John 11.22).

Suggested Prayer

I pray for my deepest soul’s sincere desire to be fulfilled in the right time and in the right way.

Personal Reflection

Both Jesus and the Holy Spirit pray for us. How amazing is that!

Hebrews 7.25 – Consequently he [Jesus] is able for all time to save those who approach God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

Romans 8.26 – Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.

I ask Jesus and the Holy Spirit to pray for deepest desires of my heart. I may not be aware of what I really want, but Jesus and the Spirit knows. I trust them to bring to me what I really need at the right time and in the right way.

Your Turn

Spend some time today talking to Jesus about the fact that the Bible teaches that both he and the Spirit pray for you. Ask him to pray for you today. Give him the desires of your heart, knowing that he will make them exactly what you need.

Please write a comment below as a way if encouraging other spiritual friends in this prayer experiment. Thanks.

  1. I am so thankful to serve a God who knows my deepest desire…because He placed it in my heart. I praise Him for His Word that promises He will fulfill that desire as I ask, trust and follow Him. What a mighty God we serve!
