Promise and Prayer – Day 1 (Monday)

Jesus’ Promise

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11.24).

Suggested Prayer

I pray for your Spirit to enter me and fill me completely.

Personal Reflection

The first time the Spirit is mentioned in the Bible is the second verse of Genesis. “The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” (Genesis 1.2).

I prayed the suggested prayer and thought of this verse. I want God to change the formless places of my life and make them conformed to his plans and purposes. I want the light of God’s Spirit to so shine in dark places of my life that they become filled with the light of Jesus.

I also prayed this passage for my two grandsons. Both of them are empty vessels who are in the process of being formed into an image that will be either full of life or not. I prayed for God’s Spirit to enter them and to fill them with God’s abundant life.

Your Turn

In Luke Jesus said this about prayer and the Spirit: “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11.13).

Invite the Holy Spirit into your life, believing that God wants you to know the joy of his presence within you. He wants to form you into the likeness of Jesus and to fill your whole life with the light of his love.

You may want to pray for significant people in your life in the same was as I pray for my grandsons.

  1. This morning I woke up earlier than usual , once I came to my senses so to speak I remembered today was the start of this 10 day prayer challenge so I did as challenged asking that jesus do a miracle in izzies life .

    1. I agree Lord we ask for healing in this child we ask that you remove this cancer but you heal her brain Lord that you be with her family and just remove the fear let them rest in your presence give the doctors amazing wisdom and insight thank you in the name of Jesus I pray amen

    2. Day 2.
      With the suggested prayer I felt kind of dry this morning . While at work I was meditating on this passage & about a year or so ago Jake taylor preached on prayer animals & I chose birds. Today every break I took I saw a redtail hawk just basking in the uplift , not flapping , just soaring letting me know that his kingdom is here for me & all who follow jesus . I’m liking this experiment. God bless izzie & family lord give them my blessings.

  3. Today I am going to pray the suggested prayer through out the day and ask that the Lord of my life help me to tame my toung while I work so my employees can experience Jesus working in me.
    Please strengthen me Jesus.

  9. Praying for peace within our hearts when things don’t seem to be right, or to be fair. I pray for faith that God can use me to impact more people by seeing Jesus in me. I pray that I stay out of the way so that can happen.

  13. I’m late starting this challenge but eager to catch up.
    I thank You, Holy Spirit, for indwelling Your people! For indwelling me! I willingly relinquish today and move out of Your way so that Your plan may be fulfilled for this day. I plead for Your mighty healing miracle in Izzy – may we all be blessed by Your work in this child. I know that Your plans are perfect, Lord. May Your will be done in her young life in Your time and in Your way. Amen
