Promise and Prayer – Day 15 (Monday, Week 3

Jesus’ Promise

1 John 5.15 – And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

Suggested Prayer

I pray for the right persons to come into my life, at the right time and in the right way.

Personal Reflection

Until finding these suggested prayers by Glenn Clark, I never prayed about the people who would be part of my life. I have listed below some sayings from Proverbs that emphasize the value of praying for the right people in our lives.

Proverbs 12:26 – The righteous gives good advice to friends, but the way of the wicked leads astray.

Proverbs 17:17 – A friend loves at all times, and kinsfolk are born to share adversity.

Proverbs 18:24 – Some friends play at friendship, but a true friend sticks closer than one’s nearest kin.

Proverbs 27:6 – Well meant are the wounds a friend inflicts, but profuse are the kisses of an enemy.

Based on these four passages, we can expect the people in our lives to give us good direction, even if it is not what we want to hear. We can also expect these people to stick close to us and to care deeply for us. It is worthwhile for us to pray this suggested prayer today.

Your Turn

If you haven’t prayed about the people who will enter your life today, please join me and let’s pray about who we will meet today. Let’s see what God does as he answers this prayer.

Do you have a story of a time when God directed your path to a friend? Please take a moment and encourage readers of real-voices.com with your experience.
